Thank you for considering the Caribbean International Music Festival as your music performance tour in 2011. We know that you are looking for the best performance experience possible for your ensemble, and we strive to provide just that.

Caribbean International Music Festival
February 23 - 27, 2011 or  March 2 - 6, 2011 (TBD)

ENSEMBLES : High School, College, and Community Instrumental & Choral Groups.
DURATION: 5 days
ACCEPTANCE: Entry by Audition Only.

 DAY ONE: Wednesday, February 23, 2011 – ARRIVE INTO CANCUN!
 
 Afternoon:Groups be met at the airport by a festival representative who will assist with loading the coaches.  Transfer to the Moon Palace Resort. After checking in, groups will have free time to explore the resort area.  Lunch at the hotel.

The beautiful Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort is located 5 miles south of the airport in Cancun's tranquil south shore. Nestled between 123 acres of tropical foliage and a secluded white sand beach stretching nearly 2,000 feet along the Caribbean Sea, the all-inclusive Moon Palace is a gated resort, offering tennis and basketball courts, miniature golf, volleyball, fitness center, bicycle trail, non-motorized water sports, and four swimming pools.

 Evening:Enjoy dinner at one of the many resort restaurants. The director will be required to attend the Director’s Orientation Meeting in the hotel. Festival participants are invited to a Welcome Reception this evening.

The rest of the evening is free!   

 
DAY TWO: Thursday, February 24, 2011  – Rehearsal Exchanges / Outdoor Performances
 
 Morning: Breakfast at the hotel. Today, groups will have the opportunity to perform on the outdoor stage at Moon Palace.  They will also take part in a rehearsal exchange with another group at the festival.  Groups will play each other’s music in an informal rehearsal setting!
 Afternoon:Lunch at the resort.

Following outdoor performances and rehearsal exchanges, the remainder of the day is free to enjoy the resort.  Optional sightseeing activities for your group are also available (additional costs apply).

 Evening:Dinner at the hotel, and the rest of the evening is free.
 
 DAY THREE: Friday, February 25, 2011 – Workshops
 
 Morning:Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a group workshop with a festival clinician at the hotel this morning or afternoon.
 Afternoon:Lunch at the resort.  Following your workshop, load coaches for an excursion to Wet and Wild Water Park!    Enjoy the huge wave pool, float down the Lazy River, plunge into a spinning water bowl, and careen down the twisting water slides at this 18-acre park!  For an additional cost, you may also choose a “Swim with the Dolphins” encounter.
 Evening:Dinner at the hotel, and the rest of the evening is free.
 
 DAY FOUR: Saturday, February 26, 2011 – Festival Performancs
 
 Morning: Breakfast at the hotel. Sound checks in the hotel ballroom on the second floor.
 Afternoon:Lunch at the resort. Assemble in the hotel ballroom. Adjudicated performance for the Caribbean International Music Festival!

Following your performance, enjoy hearing the other fine ensembles.

 Evening:Meet for dinner with all festival participants.

Following dinner is the Awards Ceremony. 

 
 DAY FIVE: Sunday, February 27, 2011 – Cancun → HOME
 
 Morning:   Breakfast at the hotel.

Check out of the hotel, load coaches and depart for the airport.

Package Exclusions

  • Airfare (available through World Projects and PAC — see Air Travel Arrangements)
  • Passport/Visa processing fees (most US Passport holders do not require a visa up to a 90 day stay)

  • Additional sightseeing excursions (A variety of Cancun sightseeing excursions which are presented as Optional Sightseeing Activities in the Director’s Packet can be arranged.)
  • Group transfers to non-festival events
